It was supposed to be a nice Sunday afternoon wedding, scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend,1950. Months of preparations and details were finally completed. The beautiful satin wedding gown from Fort Wayne had been fitted, pressed, and delivered. The Reverend Werner Von Kuhlberg and organist Velma Schumm were ready for the ceremony.
