Return to Family

Brewster/Reid

  1. Hi Karen,

Our family is descended from Charles William Brewster – the brother to your descendant Phillip Henry. I have gotten as far back as their father Jackson Brewster – but I can’t seem to go back any further. He married and I think then divorced Mary Ann Martin because he married Sophia Pugh. If you have any pictures or information of and beyond Jackson I would love to share it with my family. I have sent you a couple of emails – sorry for that but was pretty excited to see the pictures of these guys. My mom June Brewster Diehm (daughter of Melvin who is son of Charles W) would be excited to see it too. We also have the family story that Charles wife Maude Marsh was full blood Miami Native American. Not finding any proof of that but – I think that is hard to find.

Thanks for any help – Trudy

Karen just today I discovered your DNA testing you posted on Ancestry. My first husband Pat Mills mother was a daughter of Lewis Brewster who was the son of George Washington. I like you struggled to link Jackson to the Mayflower Brewsters but was led to one dead end after the other. Pat told me many years ago there might be link. Unfortunately he is not with us any longer and I have no relationship with his mother to help verify.

It never made sense to me that this line was from a German settled town in Pennsylvania, which Lewis went back to in the 1930’s with a new wife leaving his family in Indiana.

I posted a remark on Ancestry thanking you for the DNA results and that my grandson who I am researching for is not a Mayflower Brewster but a member of many many families who settled this country.

    1. Thanks for writing. Hopefully some day we will learn who Jackson Brewster’s parents were and solve this Brewster mystery. Thanks for writing and please let me know if you come up with any Brewster information.
